After completing our Yoga Teacher Training together, a friend gave me a beautiful mala necklace, which she had made herself. I was so impressed with it that I asked her to teach me how to make one. From that moment, I was hooked! Whenever I wore my beads, people would ask me about the stones and they expressed interest in having their own so I began to make them for friends. Soon enough, I was making beaded jewelry for friends of friends of friends! My husband, John, was very supportive of my newfound passion and he eventually turned me on to the idea that this was a budding business. I still remember telling him how much I enjoyed making them for people and he replied, "Well, if you sell them, you can continue to support your habit"...and that's how The Mala Garden was born. The Mala Garden has now grown beyond the standard mala to include custom-made designs, bracelets, and even popular "Do It Yourself" workshops! You can find The Mala Garden products in select yoga studios, at various craft fairs and festivals and now on-line.
